The Foundation Phase comprises of Grade R, 1, 2 and 3. It is made up of an enthusiastic and dedicated team of educators and Teacher Assistants. Although St. Raphael’s School is a school catering for special needs, our learners follow the mainstream academic curriculum, and ensures that each learner develops holistically.
The parents and the school play a vital role in the learner’s development. Parents are encouraged to play an active role in the education of their children, and to communicate with the educators if required. Parents receive academic progress reports at the end of every term, and therapy progress reports twice annually.
Educators assist parents by providing Observation Reports, to medical practitioners (neurologists, psychiatrists and general practitioners, to assist with medical reviews, sensory intergration and behavioural challenges.
